Proof of service and deadlines for Massachusetts Family Court?

Massachusetts
jenny-ifer asked:

I need to know how I am required to serve papers for Massachusetts Family court on someone living out of the country. Also, how far in advance of a court date must they be served?

Any help is really appreciated. Thank you!

*Edit* Is it the same for Family Court? And what if the person receiving it doesn’t sign for it….is it still deemed served? And how much notice is required for a court date?

For small claims, you serve papers via registered mail (return receipt). You can also use a courier service.
