First make several million dollars and have that on hand for your campaign. Next find several close advisers that are willing to get their hands good and dirty.
Start holding fundraiser dinners and promise the world to all those that pay to attend.
Make your list of all the jobs you will need to award to those that contributed to you.
Make some TV commercials where you tell lies about your opponents.
Hire private detectives to go through the trash of your opponents to dig up the dirt.
That should get you started

Start out in low-level politics in your political party, helping out with campaigns of political candidates as well as running for city council, county positions, etc. Have a college degree, hopefully a higher degree such as a law degree. Simply get to know people and kiss a lot of **** to get ahead. Once you set yourself up as a loyal party member and supporter of candidates, you will begin to be considered for more important positions, such as state or federal congress, etc. Eventually, you can throw your hat in to run for governor.
