I love my girlfriend and I’m very happy with her. I’m 30 and she’s 25. She’s a college graduate with a decent job and I just started working after being laid off for 9 months. Now that I have a job, my gf is talking about marriage and babies. I’m not making good money at the job I work now, just enough to pay the bills and my 15k in debt. I am even going to give up my own place and move into a 2 bedroom with my brother to save money. I am really trying to better my life by sacrificing not having a car to pay my debts and I just finished trade school which helped me get the job I have now. My gf still lives at home so she has more wiggle room with her money to save. She told me that she’ll put up most of the money for the wedding, house, etc, but I don’t want to go into a marriage like that. I want to bring something to the table too but right now, I just don’t have the money to do that.I try to tell her that having a house and a child is expensive and that I want to be a little more stable. Has anyone been in this situation? Oh and I live in expensive Massachusetts.
