I currently live in Massachusetts with my parents but me and a friend are thinking of moving to North Carolina. This would be a lot easier if we had family or friends in the state but we don’t. The biggest issue is getting job and apartment since most apartments need you to have a job, and jobs ask for an address and we would need a place to stay during interviews and such. Is there any solution that doesn’t involve us renting a hotel room for weeks. Any suggestions will be very helpful.

I am thinking about moving to California for a change, and am looking to find a decent job out there?

Pat asked:

I have a friend who is moving to southern California for a job opportunity. I have been working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 3 years now. I am 28 yrs old, single with no kids, and was hoping that my current job would be a stepping stone to a career. Massachusetts is now in a crisis with the budget and economy, and I was told my career job will not be offered for at least 3 more years. I am miserable at this job, and am in need of a change. I have 2 years experience working for the state as a Youth Counselor in Juvenile detention. My current job is in the Probation Dept. Where would I find a decent paying job in these fields? And where is a good spot to move to in Cali? My friend has no specification for cities, but I really want to move with him. Can i do it?

Tyler, Texas?

sophie asked:

I currently live in Massachusetts, and am thinking of relocating to Tyler, Texas. (I have an aunt who lives there.) People here are telling me I won’t like it there, the people will not be friendly to me because of where I’m from. I had never even considered that when I was going over the pros and cons of moving half way across the country. I have three daughters, and would **** to uproot them to a place where they wouldn’t be accepted.
Secondly, I know next to nothing about Texas, except what I’ve found on the internet. I want to know what the climate is like year round. What kind of adverse weather conditions would I be dealing with? How’s the crime in Tyler? Are there jobs? (My husband is a carpenter) What about health insurance? In Massachusetts there is MassHealth, which is health insurance for low income people who can’t get insurance through their work for whatever reason. Is there anything similiar to that in Texas? Any and all information appreciated!
