When men and women and children came and settled to Massachusetts, what did they do in their spare time??

I am having my senior photo taken in a month and I have the option of taking it anywhere in Massachusetts. Although Cape Cod would be perfect because it is by the water, it is a little too far for me. I want the location to be in metro west Boston, which is southwest of Boston. Does anyone have any suggestions of a gorgeous location I can go to for my senior portrait? By gorgeous I mean either tons of flower, a nice body of water..basically just a beautiful scenery.

This weekend is supposed to be a huge debate at the High School in Middleboro over a proposed casino. What is your opinion having one in Massachusetts, or in Middleboro for that matter?
