I’m thinking of getting a job, and I really want to open my own coffee house when I get older. I think Starbucks could help me with experience. I’m 16 now and I heard that you have to be 18 for Starbucks.
In the state of Massachusetts.*

I have a full-time job but would like to dabble in residential electrical work for friends and family. What would I need to do? I would like some kind of formal license and training but don’t want to go back to school or commit to any long-term programs. This is in Massachusetts.
I’m 19 and recently started a new part-time job while I’m at university. I’m doing a tourism course and my aim is to move to Massachusetts in 2010 after finishing my degree. I know there is a lot of security measures after 9/11 but I’m wondering how easy would it be for someone of my age, in 2010 I’ll be 21/22, to purchase in America. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
so im 14 , and yeah yeah yeah; if you want a job.. go mow someones lawn or babysit or paper rout or something.. but i want like a real job! one that you can work somewhere and i will get a pay check! i live in massachusetts can someone give me some help of where i can work to get some good money for my age.. i already tried market basket
I read somewhere that Massachusetts is the only state in the nation where not having health insurance is illegal.
Well, now that I got laid off and don’t have a source of income I don’t know how I can possibly pay for health insurance. Ideally I’ll find a new job soon and get health insurance, but let’s be realistic… with today’s job market I’ll be lucky if I find a job before the end of the year.
I was told that the health insurance could be subsidized if I qualified for unemployment benefits, but I still don’t know if my former employer plans to contest my unemployment claim. If they contest it, I am in trouble.
I will officially not have health insurance starting next month. Am I required by law to get insurance right away? What if I don’t get it? What happens? Do I pay a big fine? Do I go to jail?
What are my options?
PS: The Cobra thing is $500 a month. Can’t afford it without a source of income.
OK i got let go from a job i have been working at for only 2 months. I worked at another job prior to this job for 3 1/2 years but that company had a change in management and i didn’t like the way i was treated so i quit and 2 months later i found this new job that i was working at for 2 months as well before they let me go.
Here is how it all started.I slipped on some ice one evening (not in the company at home)and fell down some cemented steps and hurt my *** and back. I didn’t have a primary doctor anymore because i left my old job and started a new job but the new job’s benefits did not kick in yet i needed 120 days in. So i went and paid cash to a walk in chiropractor and he examined me and said i had a sprained lower lumbar and gave me a doctors note to refrain from work for 7 actual working days. I went to see him the second day i called out from work. The next day in the morning i told my boss over the phone what he said and i had a doctors and when i would be returning to work. My boss said OK but then that same day in the afternoon the HR called me and said they had to let me go because they have a busy work schedule and couldn’t wait for my return and had to fill my position. I was pissed but what can i do.
Would i be able to collect unemployment in Massachusetts for this until i find something else if i have a doctors note or not. Thanks
I have had a decent career as a Manager at an Ad Agency or printing company. I’m divorce and I have a 4 yr old daughter. I live in CT, but I’m dating a woman that lives in MA. I’m on the verge of moving to MA with her. In some ways this is good; I get to start my life over. But I feel like things could fall part if I don’t have a plan. My concern is the stress in my life. Lots of changes are stressful as is my job. It pays well, but I know its affecting my health. I’m looking forward to a change. If I can find a way to support myself in Massachusetts, I would be happier. But, I’d really like to do something else, but dread having to go back to school and take a pay cut to re-establish myself in some other career. Ideally I’d like to have a business of my own, but what is that? Any advice on how I can find some stability on my life and be content would be appreciated. I have this great opportunity to start over; I just don’t want to stumble around in life blindly.
No religious answers please
I certainly live up to my responsibilities as a dad and my daughter is my first priority. I love her and she loves me. But, I only get to see her every other weekend. You have no idea how hard that is on me. I would be living about an hour and fifteen minutes from her, so no big deal. I think I will be an even better dad if I get my own life in check.
I live in Massachusetts and suffer from severe depression. I DO want to work, but I cannot do the job I used to do anymore ($40 an hour). I need to go to a job that pays 1/4 that but I still need to pay my mortgage. Is there a small insurance I can collect if I can prove my illness and reason for not being able to stay with my original career? Thanks.
Do the states up north have better paying jobs than any other? like Massachusetts , newyork, Connecticut,NJ rather then FL, California?
